PLYMOUTH – Mid-State’s Visiting Specialist Program is expanding to increase access to specialty services in the region. Mid-State is pleased to partner with Littleton Regional Health- care to provide access to Gen- eral Surgery by welcoming Dr. Underbakke from LRH Surgical Associates.
In addition to his office in Littleton, Daniel Underbakke, MD will begin seeing patients in early February at Mid-State Health Center’s Plymouth loca- tion and will offer minor surgical procedures, surgical consults, en- doscopies, and colonoscopies. Dr. Underbakke is a board certified general surgeon who earned his Doctor of Medicine from the
University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed both his residency and fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
The Visiting Specialist Pro- gram allows board-certified specialists and other health care professionals to provide services at a Mid-State location. These providers are partners from local health care facilities which help increase access to services that residents may otherwise have dif- ficulty obtaining or may have to travel a great distance to receive.
Other specialty services cur- rently offered at Mid-State under the Visiting Specialist Program include:
• Dr. David Biss of Concord Po-
diatry providing Podiatry ser-
vices in the Plymouth office.
• Dr. Daniel O’Neill of the Al- pine Clinic providing Orthope- dic services in both Plymouth
and Bristol.
Mid-State looks forward to
continuing to expand the Visiting Specialist Program by exploring a variety of specialties to bring specialized care to you.
Visiting Specialists appoint- ments are scheduled directly with the specialist’s office. To schedule with Dr. Underbakke, please call LRH at 603-444-0997. To learn more about this program and scheduling with additional spe- cialist services, visit www.mid- statehealth.org.
Now Offering Physical and Occupational Services
As of January 1, 2022, Mid- State Health Center is offering physical and occupational ther- apy under its umbrella of health care services. Services will be de- livered at their office at 101 Boul- der Point, Suite 3 in Plymouth.
Mid-State’s skilled Physical Therapy Team (formerly a part of Pemi-Baker Community Health), provides personalized and individualized care to treat a wide range of injuries, diag- noses, and conditions. Mid-State Health Center’s Physical Ther- apy program offers solutions that focus on treating the causes of
physical injuries and diagnoses, rather than just the symptoms.
Dr. Matt Scagliarini, Director of Rehab Therapies at Mid-State said, “We are looking forward to continuing to make an impact in our community. Delivering ser- vices under Mid-State will allow us to integrate our practices into a whole person health centered model.”
The addition of these services further enhances Mid-State’s integrated approach to health care while providing individuals in need of physical and occupa- tional therapy with high-qual-
ity care, provided by a team of providers who are known and trusted in the region.
Dr. Robert MacLeod, Mid- State CEO says, “We are com- mitted to continuing to provide services that meet the needs of the whole person. The addition of Physical and Occupational services is another step for Mid- State to strengthen our inte- grated care model.”
