Time For Some Winter Fun, February 26th & 27th!
By Brittany amalfi
The temperatures continue to drop, but the fun won’t stop here in the Newfound commu- nity! With the fantastic success of Newfound Lake Inn’s Winter- fest last year, the Second Annual Winterfest will be held on Feb- ruary 26th and 27th! Who says a beach can only be used in the summer? The fun-filled event will begin at 11 AM and run until dark at the Newfound Lake Inn. Last year, people enjoyed Jeff Day
ice sculp-
tures with
a full-service
carved-out ice
bar, a heated
covered tent with
food and drinks,
raffles, and ice
skating. In addi-
tion, there were
all kinds of events
for kids like games, scaven-
ger hunts, and snowman build- ing! People would drive their snowmobiles down to the beach, and everyone enjoyed a nice fire on the beach as well. If anyone
is looking for some fun on the ice, Winterfest is the place to be. There’s so much to do for adults and kids, and the cold weather will be the last on anyone’s mind. The people of New Hampshire are used to the cold, and they have no problem making the most out of the falling tempera- tures!
Well, get excited, ev- eryone, be-
cause all of that is hap- pening again,
terfest. The winter months can be a little dull and dark, so why not make the days a bit brighter with everything Winterfest has to offer? Who can pass up a full- service ice bar? Who thinks they can win a scavenger hunt? Who can catch the biggest fish on the ice? So, let’s gear up for some friendly competitions and some good mingling with friends, family, and strangers as people come together to enjoy some cold winter fun by the fire pit. Sharon Atwood, the Office As-
sistant at Newfound Lake Inn, told me, “We’re bringing the Newfound community together for year-round activities.” It has been a tough few years, so the Newfound Lake Inn bringing people together is just what the community needs. There’s noth- ing more heartwarming than a community coming together for some freezing fun during these challenging times. So, mark your calendars, fire up your snowmo- biles, bundle up, and get yourself here for Winterfest!
The Newfound Lake Inn is of- fering local businesses to sponsor Winterfest. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in this fantastic event, and interested businesses can email Sharon Atwood at sharon@newfound- lake.com. Newfound Lake Inn is owned by Duane Hennarichs and is located at 1030 Mayhew Turnpike, Bridgewater, NH 03222.
