On December 8th through the 10th, the TTCC held its 69th Annual Santa's Village and had 1,075 visitors pass through their doors, where local elves cheerfully escorted them through the winter won- derland. The Polar Express Train, a perennial favorite, was choo-chooing all weekend long as the bustling Craft Fair helped to stock up on stocking stuffers to decorate both house & tree.
Face painters and Mrs. San- ta's cookies helped add an air of festive cheer as volunteers once again outdid themselves, trans- forming the Center into San- ta's Village. The TTCC would like to sincerely thank the close to 100 volunteers who made this event happen, including community members, BRAC members, pickleball players, middle & high schoolers, and our local 4th and 5th graders who were our super awesome elves! Thank you!
“This year's 4th & 5th grad- ers were a hard-working band of elves,” said TTCC Director Leslie Dion. Led by amazing Elf-Coordinator Amanda Di- Filippe, the elves each went through an interview as well as several days of training leading up to the village. This extensive training was to prepare them to do their duties, which included guiding families up to the Vil- lage, working in the ‘Sweet Shoppe’, making toys for all the kids in the Toy Shop, tak- ing letters to Santa in the North Pole Post Office, making cook- ies in Mrs. Santa's Kitchen, and handing out ornaments to all the families in Santa's house.
The ornaments are the Cen- ter’s special gift to everyone as they hand out a new, unique commemorative ornament each
Members, led by Santa's Vil- lage Director Matt Greenwood, have been coming in daily since the Saturday after Thanksgiv- ing to set up the village and will work for the next few weeks to take it all down.
The TTCC also had a great group of pickle-ballers in on Wednesday, December 7th, decorating, making crafts, and transforming the building into a winter scene to amaze. There were middle schoolers and sev- eral teen council members from
the high school volunteering as face painters and Santa's Vil- lage characters. There were volunteers each day register- ing the many families, greeting visitors, staffing the concession stand, running cookies up to Mrs. Claus & all the other little jobs that go along with putting on such a big event. If anyone didn't get an ornament, they can contact the TTCC office to get one as the TTCC wishes you all a Merry Christmas!
