Christmas Spirit
ALEXANDRIA – Thanks to a renewed townwide Christ- mas spirit inspired by the Wooster-Goodwin Family of Alex- andria, on Dec. 17th, the village was lit up by not only homes and the church and municipal buildings along Washburn and North Roads but by the lights of the town’s first official Christ- mas tree in many years. An estimated 100 people were on hand for the tree lighting ceremony that night then helped decorate it with ornaments as they sang along to “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and other fun holiday classics. Everyone then headed inside the Town Hall, where decorations, cookies, hot cocoa, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus were waiting.
“This a nice event! It’s great to see everyone come together for something like this here in our town,” said George Tuthill of the Alexandria Board of Selectmen.
