KNOWING YOUR AUDIENCE

While Running the Bases will appeal to mainstream

audiences, it is first and foremost a faith-based film. The

term “Faith-based” is really an audience more than it is a

genre. Understanding this and staying true to this audience

has proven to be a wise strategy of successful Christian

filmmakers. The Kendrick Brothers’ film War Room grossed

nearly $70M in which was almost completely accredited

to the faith-based audience. The Erwin Brothers’ film I

Can Only Imagine grossed nearly $84M. The true power

of this audience at the box office is now being realized but

mainstream Hollywood seems to be ignoring the real reason

why. The story must not insult their biblical world view.

Running the Bases honors the faith-based audience with

real-life situations from a biblical perspective.
