THE SCRIPT

Running the Bases has had two table reads with real actors. It has also been read by numerous

individual actors and experienced screenwriters. Each time was very positive and prompted

revisions that made the story and dialogue stronger. An extensive character development process

enriched and deepened the characters. Upon completion of that last revision, we knew we had it.

A quote from one screenwriter said, “My favorite faith-based movie is I Can Only Imagine and

Running the Bases has the potential to be my new favorite”. Every scene is precisely and carefully

written to perfect the story. The many layers keep it moving and the emotional highs and lows will

keep you laughing and crying with little time in between. And sitting right in the middle of a great

story is a beautifully crafted baseball story-line with lots of suspense and action. It’s believable

baseball with gut-wrenching emotion, belly-laugh comedy and big surprises throughout. The story

opens with the nostalgia of growing up in a small town with likable twin boys and their love for

baseball. Tragedy strikes and the struggle to move on ensues. Audiences will experience the beauty

of restoration, the surprise of God’s provision and the majesty of His love.
