ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Thank you to my family for being patient and understanding during these last
two years while I worked on this project. Thank you to my great friends who
wouldn’t let me give up, and for your love and support.
Monte L. Witcher, without your foresight and determination to record and
photograph these events, I truly believe a huge part of history would have
gone undocumented. Not the evidence of it all, that’s in the record books of
the United States Marine Corps and our Country but detailing the trust and
brotherhood of being in war together. You had the tenacity to continue in
the most trying of circumstances; catching some of the conversations and
sounds that today prove to be invaluable to the family and friends of every
man who served with you. You have allowed me to give something back to
these men who gave all to serve our Country… You have introduced me to
some of the greatest men I’ve ever known… But you Sir have proven with
each paragraph, every photo, and each one of the audios that I so carefully
placed, that it was done in respect and love for your Delta brothers and
Command. Monte, I stand in awe of you, and I am so proud to call you my
spouse.
The Command of Delta, my friends, you took me into the fold from day one.
There are no words… So instead, I have chosen to give you the much-
deserved respect and honor on the following pages.
Steven Dell, I appreciate your trust in us to accurately share your photos and
input, as well as your loyalty to all of Delta Company Reinforced.
Bill Covington, I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to use your photos
as a respectful and beautiful way to honor the fallen.
Dave Shields, your photos have made a beautiful addition to this book. Thank
you!
Rene Ortiz thank you for allowing us to use the audio and videos from your
2015 recording of Delta Company Marines.
