The legend behind the name...
Schiehallion takes its name from a munro in Perthshire. Schiehallion is many different things to different people.
If you are into the outdoors, it is one of the easiest Munros to climb on a nice summer’s day.
If science is your bag, then you’ll be fascinated to discover that the hill was once the object of an experiment to weigh the world.
And if you like Gaelic culture then it might interest you to hear that Sìdh Chailleann rather romantically means the
‘Fairy Hill of the Caledonians’.
