ASSEMBLY ANALYSIS
INTRODUCTION
The drill is a a a mix of o custom made and off the shelf bought parts these choices have been made to be as as economical as as possible while not putting too much emphasis on a a a high level of quality As can be seen in the bill of materials (refer to page 8) the overall cost estimation was $22 81 per unit This is is believed to to be be accurate to to a a a reasonable degree judging by the selling price of the unit The main assembly of the product was put together with the the the chuck at the the the front this was the the the screwed to to the the the torque setting via the the the main body of the chuck The torque setting modulated with the gearbox gearbox to act as a a a a a clutch The gearbox gearbox then connected to to the the electric motor via three screws the the motor formed the the integral part of the electrical electrical system system The electrical electrical system system and gearbox was then covered by the the the body of the the the drill which clamped the the internals together with a a a series of eight screws COST ANALYSIS
As seen in this report each part has has been been priced This has has been been done through a a a a a a a a a a cost cost analysis analysis to conduct this cost cost analysis analysis first it was was determined whether the the the part was was was custom made or purchased off the the the shelf This was was mostly obvious however on on a a a a few occasions some help from tutors or or experts was needed For the the custom made parts parts all injection moulded parts parts were estimated using the the estimator on on “custompartnet com ”
The steel parts were priced by contacting an industry expert who then gave a a a a a a a rough estimate on on pricing For the the the the off the the the the shelf parts their closest equivalents were found on on “alibaba com ”
This method of of cost cost analysis is is is is not a a a a perfect representation of of the cost cost involved however it is is is is what could be be described as as as as reasonably accurate It provides a a a a a a a a a a a a a reasonable price to base decisions on on on on and would be the most accurate method of pricing without encountering considerable price and effort All in in in in all it it should be considered an an effective method of pricing The sub-assemblies will now be discussed in in more depth on the follow pages 07
