REMAR Blue Caravel
‘Caravel: A small, yet fast sailing ship.’
W hen hearing about Remar, one may notice the term “caravel” used repeatedly yet be unaware of its relevance. Throughout our
first year as “Reds” we discussed the idea of sailing away from mediocrity, further journeying out to aid the impoverished, sick
and disenfranchised.
Now, having shipped from our metaphorical dock, the 2016 Remar “Blues” (the term used for a caravel in its second year) have learnt
about and taken on the concept of acting in solidarity. Subsequently, when discussing solidarity, the caravel has similarly realised that
this can only be achieved by acting in faith, through ministry and leadership and working to build a community.
Additionally, throughout this year as Blues, through both camps and meetings, the caravel has also realised the need to work as
leaders and act in ministry, providing faith and hope to the less fortunate and, ultimately, establishing a community which epitomises
these notions.
