T wenty-sixteen started promisingly with plenty of Karingal Raphael, winning the Jewel Park Izak Award together for

the best presented ACK rider and mount, as well as qualifying for
enthusiastic new members in our equestrian family.
We had a successful year with some riders placing in the Australian Interschool Championships.
numerous events and some qualifying for the Victorian team A big thank you to Mrs Perez, for your hard work and commitment
of the Interschool Australian Championships in Sydney in behind the scenes, and to my mum. I wouldn’t have made it
September. We competed in dressage, show jumping, showing through the year without my mother’s support and assistance
and eventing. on those late nights plaiting and those freezing weekend early
ACK’s successful annual dressage day was held at Lancefield morning starts. I’m sure many other students owe thanks to their
Equestrian Reserve in March. It was well attended by our parents too. We thank all those who supported our passion for
equestrians, either competing or assisting, and we were equestrianism during the year.
grateful for the support of members of the Parents and Friends Good luck to the 2017 equestrian captain and equestrian
who ran the canteen and organised and supported the event members as they continue their horse-riding journey.

In June, ACK hosted the northern region’s qualifying show
jumping event at Lancefield Equestrian Reserve. The northern
series includes schools such as Braemar College, Bacchus Marsh
Grammar and Catholic Ladies’ College. The weather leading up
to this event was very wet, however, the rain subsided and the
day was a success. We were competitive and showed excellent
          sportsmanship.
There were many great achievements during the year, whether
they were recognised by ribbons or not. Achievements ranged
from personal to team, with many members putting in an
excellent effort to help and support one another.
Being equestrian captain has been rewarding yet challenging as
I balanced year 12, while competing and fulfilling my duties as
captain to the best of my ability. The year’s personal highlights
included creating an awesome partnership with my new horse,
