Dear Mr Green

I enclose an application form for the post of Second in
the English Department at the Barn School.

For the past eight years I have been teaching in a
comprehensive school of 1,200 pupils and have had
experience teaching pupils of varying abilities from 11 to
18. During my time at Prior Court, I have been the
assistant librarian and was in total charge while the
librarian was on maternity leave.

Now I feel I am ready for more responsibility and
therefore I should like to apply for the vacant post. If I
were appointed, I would work hard and always do my
best for the school and the pupils.
