Macedonian Teachers’ Association of Victoria, Inc. (MTAV)
Teacher Professional Development Day 03/11/2019
On 3 November, 2019, the Macedonian Teachers’ Association of Victoria, Inc. (MTAV), facilitated a professional development event for teachers of Macedonian.
Eighteen teachers attended this event which focused on ‘Strategies to strengthen engagement and retention of primary and secondary school students in languages learning.’
Teachers in attendance appreciated the opportunity to listen to the Guest Speaker, Maree Dellora, Manager, Languages Unit, Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA), and to consider and collaborate with other attendees the process of designing learning plans according to student needs and preferences, using topics of interest.
This was an extremely successful event which teachers found relevant and beneficial.
New President for the Macedonian Teachers’ Association of Victoria, Inc. (MTAV)
Louise Talevska has decided to step- down from the role of President of the MTAV after having led the Association for the past fifteen (15) years. She has been a member of MTAV for the past thirty (30) years!
During the course of the fifteen years that Louise was at the helm of the Association, some of her achievements / roles were:
•coordinating the revamping of the Year 12 course book;
