Languages Victoria
• establishing contacts and professional networking with the teachers from the Saturday School of Modern Languages of New South Wales, as well as with the Community Languages Council of New South Wales;
• in collaboration with the Victorian School of Languages (VSL), MTAV organised professional development workshops for Macedonian teachers from both Victoria and New South Wales. This also provided teachers with an opportunity to showcase their experience and expertise whilst practising their presentation skills;
• worked closely with the VSL and the Minister for Education from the Republic of Macedonia. One achievement made possible from the establishment of these relationships was to secure a Teachers Assistant from Macedonia to support the Macedonian language in Victoria;
• instrumental in organising the annual Macedonian student graduation dinner;
•actively represented the Macedonian teachers at community and Department of Education events and forums.
Louise has worked closely with the longest serving MTAV Treasurer, Mr. Lube Trajkovski, who she acknowledges as having done an outstanding job. She also feels it was her honour to have worked with the longest serving Secretary of MTAV, Lidija Arapova. Lidija worked in this capacity with with Louise for over ten (10) years and Louise acknowledges Lidija’s valuable contribution to the operations of the Association over this extended period of time. Lidija was instrumental in establishing and successfully implementing the working practices of the Association, as well as collaborating with MLTAV to set-up, and maintain, the MTAV website. Louise would also like to acknowledge the outstanding work of Ms. Diana Karamicova who stepped into the Secretary position after Lidija. Diana unconditionally supported the work of MTAV.
Note of acknowledgement from MLTAV Office Manager, Kerry O’Connor: I have had the pleasure of getting to know Louise over the fourteen years I have worked as Office Manager for the Modern Language Teachers’ Association of Victoria, Inc. (MLTAV). I have seen Louise work tirelessly, and with great passion, in supporting the teachers and learners of Macedonian throughout Victoria. I have developed a great respect for Louise in her capacity as President of MTAV. She pursues her goals with a passionate, respectful, intelligent diligent approach. On behalf of the MLTAV, I wish Louise all the best for her future endeavours and adventures. Whatever path Louise chooses
