The Language Assessments are a suite of free, online language assessments developed by the VCAA and the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) to support teachers implementing the Victorian Curriculum F􏰃10 Languages.
The Language Assessments are:
Format and reporting
The Language Assessments offer separate online, multiple-choice format tests in listening and reading, in increasing levels of difficulty across eight languages. Initially, the assessments will offer teachers instant raw test scores, with extended reporting functionality available in some languages.
􏰀 a resource schools may choose to use to support their teaching of Victorian Curriculum F-10 Languages
􏰀 suitable for Levels 5-6 onwards
􏰀 a useful diagnostic tool of student progress in listening and reading
􏰀 online and available to be used anytime
􏰀 capable of providing results immediately
􏰀 free.
The Language Assessments have been developed using the Victorian Curriculum F-10 Languages, and are applicable to the listening and reading components of the curriculum.

Once registered, schools will receive a confirmation email and further instructions from ACER on how to proceed.
Professional learning support: VCAA and ACER are conducting a series of professional learning sessions to support teachers using the VCAA assessments with the Victorian Curriculum F-10. Details of upcoming sessions will be advertised through the VCAA F􏰃10 professional learning webpage:
