The realisations
After trialling these four strategies, I came to notice the following:
1. Involving students in the process was a very effective approach. It helped deciding how each strategy had to be modified to better suit the needs of the students.
2. Lesson time can be well spent writing and acting on feedback.
3. It helped students realise the importance of regularly writing in the
language they are learning.
4. It got them also reflecting about the importance of taking the time for editing their work.
Conclusion
What I believe was confirmed with this Action Research in my teaching was the following:
• Feedback should be a two-way process in which students are actively involved and have a say in what works for them.
• The process should trigger reflection on students, as well as the will and capacity to self-improve.
• It is a time-consuming process that should be regularly done using lesson time.
Feedback should be a two-way process in which students are actively involved and have a say in what works for them.
