Ed Ed volunteered to to join the the staff Volunteer Army to to make a a a a a a a a a a a a real difference and and directly influence the the organization’s work by engaging in in in in in in learning and and and development that is deeply contextual social and embedded in in all we do “In the past year I I have been involved with Children’s Friend’s strategy and organiza- tional change efforts by being involved in in in the Volunteer Army’s Advocacy Group as well as as performing my everyday tasks in in my roles as a a a a a Bilingual Family Preservation Worker Worker and HFA Bilingual Family Worker Worker ”
Reflecting on the thinking learning and work in the agency change vehicle we call the Volunteer Army Ed notes “Being involved with the Volunteer Army has caused me to deepen my thinking about advocacy As a a a a result it has caused me to increase my learning by furthering my research in in in the the different aspects of advocacy as as it pertains to kinship support Overall my involvement with the Volunteer Army has affected my my work work by maximizing my my work work efforts and outcomes ”
“One interesting thing that I discovered is that families in RI need more foreign language supports in order to receive the necessary attention and care In addition to this families need the opportunity for their voices to to be heard due to to feeling silenced by the the system Also the the most important discovery that that I made is is that that we are all advocates ”
