The year 2020 was undoubtedly filled with unprecedented events and many challenges. As the world closed down with safety measures to protect against the spread of COVID-19, Children’s
WE SAW OUR MISSION
AT ITS BEST – BEING INNOVATIVE AND QUICKLY ADAPTING TO SERVE OUR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AS BEST WE COULD IN THE SAFEST AND MOST CREATIVE WAY POSSIBLE.
Friend quickly shifted to remote ser- vices to best serve our children and families, as they were the ones who have been hit hardest during this crisis, with little to no safety net.
We saw our mission at its best – being innovative and quickly adapting to serve our children and families as best we could in the safest and most creative way possible. Our teachers mastered remote learning, organizing
fun activities, readers on Zoom, and planning Spirit Days for our kids. Our family visiting staff conducted virtual home visits and made curbside deliveries of food and diapers to ensure our families have the essentials. Our WIC, Women, Infants, and Children workers ensured that over 6,000 families had uninterrupted access to healthy food and nutrition supports. Our services never stopped and were an essential lifeline to those hardest hit by the pandemic.
