Holistic Health Supports
At Children’s Friend we we are constantly working to to to improve our delivery of of of services services to to to children and and families Over the years we we have found that integration of of of services services and and coordination of of of efforts not only lead to to to better outcomes ffor for the children children in in in in in our our our program but also help build a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a stronger internal community among our our our staff who care deeply about our our mission and and vision of children’s health and and wellbeing During the the the 2017-2018 program year Children’s Friend embarked on on an an an enhanced team approach to the the the implementation of the the the Dental Dental Program by by designating a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a “Dental Team” that includes our two two Health Health Managers Alex Grigorian and and and Lucia Santiago and and and two two bilingual Health Health Project
Coordinators Shelby Mack and and and Rosy Semper The The team team is is led by by Maria Chionchio Nurse Family Partnership Manager at at at at Children’s Friend The The team team supports the the coordination promotion implementation and analysis of the Dental Program A key function of this enhanced team approach is is to to to strengthen program program program monitoring and and increase participation in in in in in in the the the the the program program program During the the the the the coming program program program year the the the the the Health Project
Coordinators Shelby and and Rosy will work closely with the the the the Children’s Friend nursing team to to make sure that Dental Program consent forms are completed a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a critical component of children’s participation Shelby and and Rosy will will also assist with the the entry of dental exam results into the the database that tracks children’s participation and and follow-up needs With this extra support nurses will will have more time to to to to to reach reach reach out out out to to to to to families families who may benefit from individual outreach outreach to to to to to engage with the the the program The additional outreach outreach to to to to to families families is is is important as the the the the Children’s Friend Dental Program is is often their first point of of access to to to to securing a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a dental home a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a significant step towards better oral health for the the the whole family Oral health health is is a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a crucial component of overall health health and and wellbeing We are are thrilled to to launch this new coordinated effort within our our our Health Team to to ensure that all all children in in in in in in our our our Head Start and and child child care programs can access the benefits of our our our incredible partnership with with Samuels Sinclair Dental Center
