                                                           Booster vaccinations for medical personnel as we face new challenges of Omicron variants

COVID-19 continues to be prevalent in Indonesia with new variants of Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 in the community. According to recent data, more than six million people were suffering from the Omicron variant.
Some couples experiencing infertility were also exposed to new variants of COVID19 infection before they entered ART programs.
The government has introduced a policy to provide a second booster vaccination for medical personnel.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Association for In Vitro Fertilization (IAIVF/PERFITRI) has recently conducted some on-line scientific activities involving speakers from all over Indonesia and beyond.
An on-line presentation updating PCOS management featured Professor Bulent Kukurtcu and Professor Budi Wiweko with Professor Hendy Hendarto as chairman.
IAIVF/PERFITRI also presented start-up training in assisted reproductive technology with Professor Wiweko, Professor Hendarto, Professor Samsulhadi, Professor Wiryawan Permadi, Professor Budi Santoso, Dr Ashon Sa’adi, Dr Aucky Hinting and Dr Ivan Sini.
The presentation was chaired by Dr Binarwan Halim. More than 100 people participated in the start-up straining program.
The Asia and Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (AOFOG) and Indonesian Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology held the 27th AOFOG Congress in Bali from 23 to 26 May with more than 800 participants.
The conference theme was From Beach to Bedside: Between the Culture, Tradition and Technology in Women’s Health.
Speakers included Shee-Uan Chen, Jaydeep Tank, Suresh Nair, Vijay Roach, Rashida Begum, Professor Wiweko, Professor Hendarto, Dr Halim and Dr Gita Pratama.
