‘new normal’ practices
in fertility treatment
By Dr Surinder Singh Country Representative
The Malaysian Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (MSART) presented a major on-line conference last September involving a wide cross- section of fertility specialists, embryologists, nurses and others with special interests in the field.
The conference was a resounding success with more than 500 local and overseas delegates highlighting MSART’s status as a significant continuing medical education contributor in the Asia Pacific region.
With support from our sponsors, the Organising Committee proudly hosted over 35 expert chairpersons and speakers.
They represented countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Australia.
The symposia program covered topics including:
• ovarian stimulation;
• management of patients;
• embryology;
• male infertility and andrology;
• pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT);
• surgery in ART; and
• fertility nursing.
The plenary session on day two addressed pregnancy in very advanced maternal age.
As the country representative and CME coordinator, I am proud that delegates were able to share knowledge, discuss trends and explore new dimensions in medical technology.
When specialists from different locations are able to connect in this way, it leads to better treatment outcomes and quality of care for our patients.
