Continuing collaboration to improve practice of reproductive medicine across Asia Pacific
By Dr Jacqueline Chung Country Representative
The government has further loosened COVID-19 social distancing restrictions and daily activities are finally back to normal.
While patronage at restaurants is capped to 12 persons per table, people can now go to fitness centres to exercise without masks.
Compulsory quarantining is no longer required upon arrival in Hong Kong. Travellers only require three days of medical surveillance during which they are free to go out.
However, they are obliged to comply with amber code restrictions under the vaccine pass with a further
four day self-monitoring period.
In recent months, academic activities have continued to return to normal. The Hong Kong Society for Reproductive Medicine AGM and Annual Scientific Meeting was held on 25 September with over 50 health care professionals present to discuss updates on ovarian stimulation.
On 19 November, the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG) collaborated with us and arranged an infertility and ultrasound session during the virtual 19th ISUOG International Symposium in Asia.
Jacqueline Chung
Professor Kamal Ojha, Dr Sotirios Saravelos, Dr. Karen Ng and I provided an overview of the assessment for infertility using ultrasound scans.
More than 400 health care professionals signed up for the meeting and we had representation from Australia, Brunei, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, the United Kingdom and Vietnam.
We wish you a prosperous New Year and hope to continue collaborating with other societies to improve the practice of reproductive medicine locally and throughout Asia Pacific countries.
