Learning and Teaching and Advice for Students

Learning and teaching are two very important concepts that a person

continues to engage in throughout their life, whether it be knowingly or
unknowingly. For this reason, one must be critical of their surroundings.

Your environment inevitably forms who you become.

Make sure to surround yourself with positive influences, learn from them

and incorporate what you’ve learned into your own life, then go out and

be a positive influence on others!
                                                                                               Mr. Ibraheem Khalifa
Here is some advice that I have received from positive influences in my life Science Lead Teacher
and now pass on to my students.

     Ask questions!

How else will you learn? Do not be afraid to ask whatever questions you

may have; chances are many other students have the same question and

just haven’t asked. Even if it’s only to ask your teacher to repeat
something. Your teacher will be happy to know that you are engaged. As a

teacher, the best moments of my lesson are when my students ask me
     questions!

     Listen!

Learn to listen. No, not just listen. Actually listen! Don’t think about the

hamburger and the Cheetos you will have for lunch, or how you’re going
to beat your friends at Fortnite later. Be an “active listener”. Which mean

you must be attentive and engaged. Ask about what you don’t understand.

Repeat what you have learned and finally teach it to others.

     Aim high!

This is important. So many students, after they’ve written a test, come to

me and ask, “Mister! Did I pass?!” How do you expect to do well in life if

you only aim for the bare minimum? A wise man once said: “Shoot for the
moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” When you set higher

goals, you will be more focused and work harder to reach them. And next

time, instead you’ll be asking, “Mister! Did I get perfect?”
     And lastly Never give up!

Don’t let one bad mark on a test cause you to give up on the rest of the

year. Everyone makes mistakes. The key is to learn from your mistakes

and use what you’ve learned to do better the next time.

Consider these recommendations when preparing for the upcoming
exams, and I wish you all the best on your journeys toward achieving your
     aspirations.
