How did I get started in quilting and sewing? My Mother taught me at the age of 8. Of course knitting was also
included. I started to machine embroider 9 years ago.
There was not a nurse that I worked with that didn't receive a quilt for their newborn.
I have a Brother Luminare Sewing and Embroidery Machine and a Brother 10 needle Embroidery Machine.
My favorite projects are gifts for friends that I make for Christmas and birthday gifts. I am asked frequently if I sell any of my projects and the
answer is No.
I love bright colors. All my friends know I never give them dull gifts. The most challenging project lately has been my embroidered table topper.
I have taken numerous classes. The last class I took will be my most memorable. The class was at home live on UTube to make a Hope Quilt.
This quilt was sewn during the Pandemic. All the teacher asked for was a $10.00 donation . She raised over $35,000.00 in donations to two
restaurants feeding the hungry and the Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts donated their cookies to various Health Care Workers. There were 6000 participants
and 24 countries involved with this quilt. This will reign very high in my memories.
Future plans are to grow and learn everyday. I am blessed
to have had a wonderful full time career as a critical care
nurse for 40 years and now after 9 years of retirement I
can really play and learn everyday.
