Long Plafond Knot
This modified plafond knot is made by altering the number and the direction of the
flat knots employed in the basic plafond knot.
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Tie the flat knots following the step-by-step illustration guide below, then tighten
them vertically and horizontally. The easiest method is to tie six flat knots (1, 2, 3, 4,
5 and 6) one after the other using both cord ends, with the weave of knots 3 and 4 or
3 and 5 different from that of the other four.
2. Before tightening, flip flat knots 6, 5 and 4 upwards to alter the arrangement of the
flat knots, from top to bottom, into 4, 5, 6, 1, 2 and 3.
HINT
To pull the cord ends through the flat knots, insert your left thumb into the knot and
pull the cord ends from the top of the front and back body of the knot.
