Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Emerging Trends

in Optical Technologies with Hands-on Training

Dr. A.Sivasubramanian and Dr. Anith Nelleri organized the FDP

during 6th - 8th December 2018. The program was open to the

undergraduate senior students, research scholars and the faculty
of various institutions. There were eight resource persons

delivered talks on various optical technologies. The program
started with, delivering Lectures on Basics of Optical

communication and went on delivering lectures on recent

technologies such as Optical sensor, Radio over Fiber, Optical

networks, Optical signal processing and Adaptive optics. There

was hands-on training using optsim software.The Lecture

sessions and Hands-on sessions were well received by the

participants. The participants felt the program was very much

useful. The participants were from various engineering colleges

from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
