A Call for Unity

pent and believe and act rightly: Allah will transform
the wrong actions of such people into good – Allah is
Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah Furqan: 70)
According to the Gospel, the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) pro-
                 claimed:
I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners to repen-
                      tance. (Luke, 5: 32)
I tell you, no! Unless you repent, you too will all perish. (Luke,
                      13: 5)
... The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near.

                      eousness. (Isaiah, 1: 27)
My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.
Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes."(Job, 42:
                      5-6)

                       Seeking only Allah's Good Pleasure

People answer the question of what they have done for
Allah in many different ways. For example, they may say: I

have stilled the hunger of the poor, I have prayed, or I have wor-
shipped. Each of these is commendable, but it is a serious er-
ror to do what Allah asks at certain times and then, at all oth-
er times, be oblivious of His existence and the proximity of
