What Eldredge means is that now we have a
sufficiently high number of fossil specimens
to let us see how natural history developed.
In terms of the supposed process of evolu-
tion, however, there are also huge gaps
between these specimens. The reason
for this is not any lack of fossilized
examples, but rather that these fos-
sils are incompatible with any ev-
olutionary scenario. The fossil
record documents that evolu-
tion never took place.
