KNOWING THE REAL ESSENCE OF
MATTER

People who contemplate their surroundings conscien-
tiously and wisely realise that everything in the universe – both
living and non-living – must have been created. So the question
now is "Who is the creator of all these things?"
It is evident that "the fact of creation", which reveals itself in
every aspect of the universe, cannot be an outcome of the uni-
verse itself. For example, a bug could not have created itself. The
solar system could not have created or organized itself. Neither
plants, humans, bacteria, erythrocytes (red-blood corpuscles),
nor butterflies could have created themselves. The possibility
that these could all have originated "by chance" is not even imag-
inable.
We therefore arrive at the following conclusion: Everything
that we see has been created. But none of the things that we see
can be "creators" themselves. The Creator is different from and
superior to all that we see with our eyes, a superior power, invis-
ible but Whose existence and attributes are revealed in every-
thing that exists.
This is the point at which those who deny the existence of
Allah demur. They are conditioned not to believe in His exis-
tence unless they see Him with their own eyes. They may disre-
gard the fact of "creation", but they cannot ignore the actuality of
