ROMAN MORENO’S RETIREMENT PARTY
It’s always sad to see a Staff member leave to go on to the next chapter of their lives, but this one was exceptionally bittersweet. Roman started at RCYC on October 31, 1984 as a Bartender. From there his career progressed to Head Bartender and finally to Dining Room Supervisor.
During his time here he showed our Members and Staff his kind nature and knowledge of all things wine and food. A testament to that was the crowd that showed up for his retirement party on Wednesday, July 31st. From long standing Members to new Members along with Staff who have worked with him over the years, some retired, some who have left for new opportunities and ones that still worked with him. All came out to celebrate his time here at RCYC and to show that he will be missed.
At the event Stanley Fu, one of the original three musketeers (Tony Jelenic, Roman Moreno and Stanley Fu), whipped up their famous Caesar Salad, which was served with oysters, shrimp, crepes and of course a farewell cake.
Jamie Keating and Neil Rooney gave heartfelt speeches and presented Roman with a framed photo of our beloved Island Clubhouse to remind him of his time here with us. Roman accepted his gift and thanked those that he’s come to know over the years holding back tears of sadness and joy.
Roman will be missed dearly by the friends he has made throughout his time here.
