                                    CRUISING SAILORS' SQUADRON

Cruise to the Oakville Yacht Squadron, August 10th–11th
This was the first cruise for Ned and Sue Macaulay, accompanied by their daughter and granddaughter, on their new and newly named South Isle, and the last CSS cruise of 2019 for Anne and Peter Nicoll of Stellaluna before sailing south to the Bahamas. Along with Aphrodite, Avalon, Calico, Deideag Na Gaoithe, Northern Miner and Pipe Dream, they cruised the 18nm with winds NW 10 to 15 and returning with SW 8 to 12. The OYS Officers of the Day welcomed each boat and were a wonderful help in arranging a Reception and BBQ, enjoyed by all on the deck overlooking Sixteen Mile Creek. Thanks to Cruise Co-Captains Michael & Lori Cane and Bob & Sally Medland.
included) to share appetizers and stories of voyages, including attending the Antique Boat Show in Clayton, as well as dealing with challenges of cruising life such as chasing dinghies, trying to anchor during a storm, harvesting mountains of weeds on anchors, escaping a runaway powerboat, and batteries not working. Plus lots of sharing ideas of how to fix such problems. Energetic members walked and ran around the trails on Mulcaster Island, a Provincial Park. Glen House for lunch and the Ivy Lea for dinner by dingy provided a different world!

Fifty Point Cruise, August 31st to September 2nd
Fifteen boats enjoyed the peaceful and friendly Fifty Point, visiting the new restaurant, sharing appetizers, exploring the conservation area, meeting up with local boaters and sourcing dodger and Bimini solutions. Many made the trip to a nearby farmers stall and food store, with Brian Monrad biking back with fresh corn
  Mulcaster Rendezvous, August 6th–8th
Atlas, Cattitude, Ferolin, Irish Mist, Quadrille, Rushale, Sea Change, Sun Catcher, Waterford were joined by with Dulcina, Moss, One Step and Tremelo in the protected (somewhat) Mulcaster anchorage. We gathered on Irish Mist and then on Ferolin (tours
