BROOKS BROTHERS RCYC OPEN 2019

The Brooks Brothers RCYC Open Regatta will be held June 15th & 16th as we welcome sailors and friends from Western Lake Ontario to our Club. The Lake Ontario Racing Council (LORC) coordinates racing between sailing clubs on Lake Ontario and Open Regattas are held to bring regional sailors together for racing and social events.
Last June, we hosted over 500 sailors and friends for the dinner/party. 93 boats enjoyed two days of competition on the water and the Royal hospitality that our Club is famous for. After racing concludes on multiple race courses, sailors will return to our island for freshly shucked oysters prepared by Rodney’s Oyster House. Brooks Brothers will return with their popular pop-up store and special clothing. A Royal dinner will follow and then live music and dancing in the bar and front lawn. Last year showed that the new layout on the north side of the Club made for a great venue to host the Open party. We can all be proud of this evolution of our elegant and vibrant Clubhouse.
The Open Regatta is also an opportunity to recapture
the event ambiance of Open Regattas of the past. We encourage sailors to make it a weekend and stay on board your boat or pitch a tent on Snug Island for the night.
We hope that you will make plans to join us as the Club hosts this fun event and we particularly want to include more of our mid-week racers. The active participation in our mid-week harbour racing is the envy of many sailing clubs around the world, yet too few of these boats join the start line for weekend regattas. Come out on the lake with your Tuesday night crew and join the fun in the PHRF distance race. You don’t have to rig an old spinnaker, just enter White Sail and
