                                                                                                                                                          Then on March 6th, Bob Noble, with participation of those present, took us through the many considerations needed to keep an eye on the weather - from checking forecasts and the sky, to checking equipment, to planning to stay away from storms, as well as the importance of sharing information with all aboard, and sources of weather information.  75 members and guests from other clubs filled the Sports Hall on Sunday, February 25th at this comprehensive Cruising Club of America seminar, lead by Sheila McCurdy. The takeaway book, “Safety for Cruising Couples”, provides excellent reminders of the many safety considerations covered. Thanks to Amanda Balasubramanian for organizing this event.
PAT YOUR BOAT DAY
On February 11th, the Carpenter’s Shop on the Island was filled with Members celebrating Pat Your Boat despite a week’s postponement due to mechanical issues with the ferry, limited ferry service due to ice in the Harbour, and forecasted rain. Thanks to Geoff Cornish for once more providing the excellent soup and nautical cake and to Director of Marine Services, Mark Turuk, our host.
