2019 YOUTH RACE TEAM IN REVIEW

The RCYC Youth Race team is made up of several classes of boats and excited male and female teenagers, all working hard to hone their craft and build their skill set, while crossing their fingers the best wind blows in.
Highlights from the 2019 season include:
• Laser 4.7 team competed at US North American Champs in New Jersey in July, where Carling Davies (1) and Chris Kitson (2) finished on the podium with their teammates close behind, Annalise Balasubramanian (5) and Jack Schauer(6)
• CORK (Kingston) hosted both the Radial Worlds and 4.7 Worlds and RCYC qualified six sailors to compete, including Blair Treadwell and Jordan Ozlak
• Patrick Desrochers and Aidan Ryall finished 1st in the 29er at the Fruit Bowl regatta at Hudson Yacht Club, Quebec in July
• In the C420 and representing RCYC on the Grand Prix team: Phoebe Tufts and Cate Balasubramanian finished second overall at Lilac Regatta and competed in Gold Fleet at CORK
• All teams headed to Kingston to compete at CORK International/Sail Canada Youth Championship in August where Carling Davies was top girl in the 4.7,in the 29er Tate Howell and her crew, Audrey Staples from RStLYC, placed third overall as well as top girls, and Colin Davies (OST) finished first overall in his final Youth Champs in the Radial
• A number of RCYC youth sailors have been selected to attend the Sail Canada U20 Team
