Cruising Sardinia’s glorious Costa Smeralda coastline
On January 9, Margot Pengelly and Eva Innes began the 2019 CSS Speakers Series by sharing their adventures in their 2018 week cruise along the famous Costa Smeralda coast on the north east of Sardinia. With spouses, Axel Hussel and David Medhurst, they chartered a Dufour 412 from Portisco enjoying beautiful temperatures in the high 20’s, sunshine, azure blue seas and strong sailing winds of between 15-25 knots, while exploring the coast down to Isola Tavolara, up to Cala di Volpe, on to the Maddalena Islands then round to Porto Cervo, before heading back to Portisco. The seminar concluded with a surprise sampling the famous Sardinian drink, aperol spritz ! Special thanks to Peggy McFarland for stepping in at the last minute as CSS Executive rep.
