FEEDBACK ON ACADEMIC WRITING
A study explored the forms of feedback on academic writing, teachers guide and
correct the deficiencies of students at the time of writing, taking into account the defects
found in each student in order to improve their knowledge and skills.
(Radhika, 2015 ) Says: “writing for academic purposes in a second foreign language
is a major challenge faced by many students at both secondary and tertiary levels”. Being
able to write correctly in a language different from ours is one of the skills that all students
are able to acquire through the teachings of our teachers, which will serve us for our entire
student and professional life. Moreover, many students have difficulty relating ideas to the
subject of the text, writing clearly and accurately. (Martinez, 2016,) Claims: “teachers must
give feedback in a fast, effective and continuous way to students via the institutional forum,
email and in the same laboratory”.
Receive oral feedback from peers, and friends face-to-face meetings with university
writing center teachers is another form of feedback. Listening to opinions from different
points of view will help us improve writing in the English area.
Evaluations and academic tests are very important in the teaching process-learning
since through them the knowledge learned in class is reflected and reinforced that
allows students to be active, thinkers, responsible and committed to any activity that
involves evaluation. It’s important to know the errors to correct. (Black, 1995, p.260).
It means that the evaluation leads and promotes the learning process that the students must
achieve according to the knowledge acquired by the teachers, in this way it will become a
dispensable and significant tool to improve the knowledge in academic writing.
