I’m so proud to be part of a church that makes bold and audacious goals to amplify the message and the
ministry to the Next Generation (kids/youth). And while we didn’t plan on a global pandemic, 2020 has
proven to be a year where Mariners Youth has grown in incredible ways. In response to teenagers not being
able to leave the house, we quickly launched weekly digital opportunities to reach students where they live—
online (YouTube and Instagram)! These virtual spaces opened doors for even more teenagers to encounter
God’s love. Because of your sacrificial giving, we have been able to minister to students in these difficult days and point them to the hope of Jesus. We’ve seen many
teenagers (and their families) find us online and plug into Mariners for the first time. Students are joining
virtual and physical small groups and giving their lives to Jesus and committing to following Him. They are experiencing meaningful connections, authentic conversations, and deep camaraderie in youth
life groups with both peers and caring adults. In a year where nothing has gone according to plan,
God has continued to move in the hearts of the next generation and reveal His bigger plan. I’m so excited for the future of Mariners youth ministry
and can’t wait to see what God will do next!
