BEARING RACE See Figure 3-28. Slide thrust washer (1) down balance sprocket shaft. Chamfer on thrust washer must face inboard (toward balancer). Slide bearing inner race (2) down balanceshaft as far as Install sprocket spacer (7) and sprocket (8) on balance- shaft and secure using flat washer (9) and nut (10). NOTE If not enough of the shaft threads are exposed to install the nut, remove the spacer (7) and then assemble sprocket (8) flat washer (9) and nut (10). Repeat step 5 using spacers/ washers to fully install bearing inner race and thrust washer. See Figure 3-28. Wrap a shop rag around balanceshaft to get a firm grip and also to prot
