Marlowe Robinson
Robinson goes to provincials

A Petrolia teen is heading to the Ontario Junior Champion- ships for Weightlifting.
12 year-old Marlowe Robinson gained a berth to the competition during the Mini Hercules event hosted by the University of Toronto and sanctioned by the Ontario Weightlifting Association Sunday.
The Ecole Hillcrest student had a combined total of 37 kilograms including lifting a personal best of 25 kgs in her nal attempt.
Jr. Aces beat Moraviantown

The Alvinston Junior Aces improved to 8-5 in Southwest Middlesex Men’s Fastball League action with a 7-4 win over Moraviantown in a rare Wednesday night game in the east Lambton community.
Brodie Boyce went the distance for the pitching win and also contributed two singles, a walk and two runs scored.
Mark McNally stroked a two-run homer for the Junior Aces, while Gavin Vermeersch had two hits, including a double. Kole Keating drove in a pair and Xaviar Herrick scored twice and drove in a run.
A scheduled game in Oneida last Thursday was postponed.
The Jr. Aces travel to Highgate on Wednesday to play the Rock.
Meantime, Alvinston was in Kitchener last weekend for the Canadian Invitational Junior (U21) Tournament where the club nished fourth. They went 3-2 in round-robin play with wins over Owen Sound, Chippewa and Team Manitoba, but then lost to Owen Sound in the semi- nals.
Kole Keating, Cole Pavey and Mark McNally all hit three- run shots for the Aces over the course of the weekend, while Brodie Boyce had a two-run homer.
