Do Eat Performance Based Assessment for Children. Developed to evaluate the areas
of strength and difficulty in activities of daily living among children with a variety of disorders including developmental coordination, attention deficit hyperactivity and verbal/non-verbal learning dis- abilities.
Composed of three related activities, each one designed according to a sequence of tasks required to perform the overall activity, with observation and analysis performed on two dimensions: the tasks
required, and performance skills. Based on both top-down and bottom-up approaches, the Do-Eat is an ecologically valid assessment. Unique in that it examines sensory-motor performance skills, executive functions, behavioral and emotional measures and their impact on global performance of daily activities.
In addition, it includes dynamic assessment principles with the aim of evaluating the type of conditions, assistance and mediation (given through a standard, structured pre-determined system of cues) the child needs to perform the activity successfully. Suitable for children with either a chronological or behavioral
age of five to eight years. Developed by Sara Rosenblum P.hD., Naomi Josman P.hD. and Ayelet Goffer M.Sc
Advantages of the Do-Eat include:
• can be performed in virtually any environment
• provides a wealth of information in just 30 minutes
• enjoyable for children, it can be used to foster a relationship between the tester and child
• allows parents to be partners in the process by contributing knowledge about the childs functioning from their perspective 0816-55-695 $249.95
Assessments
Evaluation
Test of Visual Perceptual Skills - 3
(TVPS-3). Now, just one test covers
all of the ages that were previously
covered by the two forms of the earlier
test (TVPS-R and TVPS-UL-R). The
easy-to-use assessment determines the
visual perceptual strengths and weak-
nesses of students aged 4 through 18. The test
utilizes black and white line drawings as stimuli
for all of the perceptual tasks; the stimulus plates
are bound in a convenient easel-style booklet.
The items are still presented in a multiple-choice format, and responses can be made vocally or by pointing to the answer choice. This format is ideal for use with students who may have impairments in motor, speech, hearing, neurological or cog- nitive functions. The TVPS-3 provides new, nationally stratified norms based on over 2,000 students. The TVPS-3 is individually administered, untimed, and takes about 25 minutes to complete. Scoring is quick and uncomplicated. Age-equivalents are provided for subtest and overall scores.
PDMS-2 (Peabody Developmental Motor Scales - Second Edition). This evaluation tool has been improved based on research and feedback from users. The package provides in-depth assess- ment and training or remediation of gross and fine motor skills for children from birth through six years of age. Six subtests (reflexes, stationary, locomotion, object manipulation, grasping and visual-motor inte- gration) reliably measure interrelated motor abilities and has been standardized on 2,003 children.
The PDMS-2 allows users to determine a child’s Gross Motor Quotient, Fine Motor Quotient and Total Motor Quotient. New Profile/Summary
Form can be used to record a child’s scores: age equivalents, raw scores, percentiles and standard scores. The forms graphically display the child’s performance to determine strengths, weakness and progress. The Kit includes 25 new Examiner Record Booklets, Illustrated Guide for Administering and Scoring, 25 provile forms, an activities program manual, the new black and white Peabody Motor Development Chart, manipulatives and a sturdy storage box. Optional wall chart measures 38” x 26”.

patients, where right hemisphere func-
tion may be an issue. Consists of six subtests
including Copying, Figure-Ground, Visual-Motor
Search, Visual Closure, Visual-Motor Speed and Form Constancy. Subtests and in- dexes suggest areas of emphasis in cognitive and fine motor rehabilitation. Ages: 11 through 74. Testing time: 25 minutes.
