Count” and the Laconia CERT team, has now added a key new charity, Building Dreams for Marines. This non-profit was formed to assist Marines and other U.S. military veterans with mobility issues as it retrofits resi- dences to enable vets and their families to live comfort- ably and confidently in their homes.

 Known and recognized as a leader of the community and as one of the most charming smiling faces of The NASWA Resort, Peter and his wife, Hope, took every opportunity to enjoy the beauty of their home state and to give back. If he was not boating or riding with friends, Peter would welcome visitors from his custom- ary seat at the entrance to the NAZBar & Grill—always with a handshake, a hug and smile!
11:00am – Kickstand UP for a no-traffic, “feet up” cruise, thanks to the escort of the State and Local Police. Breezing by other bikers, cruise to another Laconia leg- end, The New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Feel like a racer, running exciting laps around the track and road course, thanks to NHMS GM Dave McGrath, who offers Memorial Run riders this breathtaking experience.
After building a career as an attorney, following his mil- itary service, Peter and Hope raised their family as they grew The NASWA Resort. Peter was instrumental in purchasing the Laconia Fire Department’s water rescue
1:30pm – After the ride, the adventure continues back at the NAZBar & Grill for the After-Ride Party. The gourmet buffet lunch unfolds, topping even the breakfast with variety and quality, unparalleled by any other bike event. Be treated to a beer “On Peter” and have plenty of fun with new and old friends. A silent auction offers an array of unique New England themed treasures that will be a coveted rally souvenir. The James Mont- gomery Band returns to The NASWA to bring rhythm and blues to the party all afternoon!

8:30-10:00am – Registration - Pick up your collector T-shirt, with artwork by renowned Harley-Davidson artist, David Uhl’s Uhl Studios design group and enjoy a bountiful breakfast at the NASWA Resort’s NAZbar & Grill--right on the beach.

 “We know my father would be proud of this initiative,” says Cynthia Makris, president of the NASWA Resort who followed in her father’s footsteps to make the NASWA a strong community service and contributor. The Resort was founded by her maternal grandparents in the early 1900’s and she now guides 4 generations of the Makris family in maintaining its legacy.
