incredibly fortunate over
the years to work along-
side some inspiringly
dedicated people. As
we’ve said time and time
again, it takes a village
to raise a rally and
Laconia Motorcycle
Week wouldn’t be the
legacy it is now without
many helping hands. To
that end, we extend our
sincerest thanks to our friend, Chief Ken Erickson, for two decades of service to the Laconia Fire Department, one of the busiest fire departments in the state of NH, and for his service to the rally.

The shirt says it all!
Chief Erickson began his career in Laconia in 2001 after already serving close to two decades in our neighboring state of Massachusetts. At the time of his arrival, the rally boasted more than 350,000 people and Ken took it all in stride. On top of his responsibilities as full-time fire chief for both Laconia and Belmont, Ken also worked as an instrumental collaborator alongside the Makris family to promote the Peter Makris Memorial Ride, the official kick- off of Laconia Motorcycle Week. This ride has raised well-over $150,000 for the Eater Seals NH Veteran’s Count Program and the Laconia Fire Department’s Life Saving Fund and Community Emergency Response Team. Chief Erickson is proof that you don’t have to own a motorcycle to be a true rider at heart. We are proud that Ken has passed the leadership torch to Chief Kirk Beattie, who has more than earned his place at the helm, and we will forever be grateful to our friend and fellow motorcy- cle enthusiast, Ken Erickson.
