and all that comes out

               is nonsense.

I don’t know what to do,
               she doesn’t understand me,

               so I start to cry.
               Other people look at me

like a gunshot has been fired

               right next to me.
               Tears run down my face,

               and onto the ground
like little raindrops falling from the sky.

tiny breath clouds fading in front of my eyes.

When will the milk-taker come with grass?
It does not taste very good

dry and stale and yellow like it has died,
               but it is food.

I stomp my hooves for warmth,
