PPAI Expo 2016
Technology Committee Meeting
The following notes were derived from several email discussions and feedback to help us in planning
the 2016 Technology Summit to be held on August 17-18 in San Francisco, CA.
Session Topics
Startups
Talk about how they innovate and compete as a startup company
Relevant to companies of all sizes
Talent Management
Referencing the challenges with technology talent pressures in market places
San Francisco is the most competitive tech talent market in North America; it would be nice to get their
perspective on attracting and retaining talent.
Social Media
Specifically discuss social tools? Maybe something like web analytics tools, etc.
Project Management
This topic should be addressed as one of the most popular positions/titles at the 2015 tech summit was
“Business Analyst”
Best Practices PPT
Default to use the widescreen (16:9) format
Look at a new design. Current design is very technical looking; we could do a much better logo.
Should we do an Industry contest?
Don’t push so hard to get a large quantity; focus on the quality and the best tips.
Rank the tips so they are spread out but weighted heavily towards the start.
Options for content delivery; put some limits out there or pick the best stuff to use.
NEW Idea
Small Business Technology Conference
Responsibility should reside on the tech committee for content and finding speakers. This should not be confused
with the larger business goals of integration, programming, etc. They should be VERY distinct and people who
attend the summit should have 0 interests in this event.
Entry level; typical productivity with technology
o General Office software tips/tricks
o QuickBooks training
o Tools to automate your business
o Equipment purchasing – what does a small business need
o Small business cloud solutions
