The Gardco Automatic Drawdown Machine (DP-8301) was designed to draw down sample coatings with a high degree of reproducibility. Manual drawdowns are often inconsistent due to different operators, which can make comparisons between samples dif cult or unreliable. Other factors
affecting drawdown coatings are the shear rate and the amount of weight being applied on the applicator. With the Gardco Automatic Drawdown Machine the operator can get consistent, precision coating drawdowns every
time.

Heated perforated vacuum table to be used to create smooth and consistent thin lms of paint, lacquers and other materials on sample specimen such as opacity test charts, sample panels, foils or other at substrates. The vacuum table is made of hard aluminium and anodized in hardcoat at black to provide a durable and inert surface
with an absolute atness. The surface of the vacuum table is perforated with a grid of small holes which hold the test specimen in position for proper drawdown when attached to a vacuum pump or line (not included).

The TQC AFA Compact is an entry level lm applicator that accepts charts up to A4 size or 8.3 x 11.7 inch (210 x 297 mm). Application speed can be set from 1 to 150 mm/s. The AFA Compact is suitable for both wire wound rod applicators and block applicators. Operating is easy through the standard TQC operating inter- face. The AFA Compact is available with a glass bed of a
perforated vacuum bed.

Automatic Film Applicator

The byko-drive XL Automatic Film Applicator has the most exible design to perform drawdowns of coatings and inks. The dry lm appearance is impacted by drawdown speed and pressure on the applicator tool. A programmable speed control from 5 - 500 mm/sec. in 1 mm/sec. incre- ments is standard. Interchangeable weights apply pressure across the entire length of the applicator for a consistent lm thickness. The push bar is designed to accommodate a wide variation in wire-rod sizes, applicator bars, applicator frames, and lm casting knives.
