Weld RE-4 preschool serves students who are three, four, or ve by October 1 of the school year. Preschool classrooms are located at Tozer Primary School and Grandview, Range View, and Skyview elementary schools Tuesday through Friday. There are also two-day-a-week classes for three-year-old special education students on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Wednesdays and Fridays.
Weld RE-4’s preschool program gets children kindergarten-ready. We offer rich experiences that develop social, communication, cognitive, self-help, and ne and gross motor skills. Our preschool program employs nationally recognized Creative Curriculum GOLD, widely regarded as a forward-thinking, comprehensive, rigorously researched curriculum that honors creativity and focuses on making learning exciting and relevant to every child. Other programs used in our preschool classrooms include Preschool Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS), Handwriting Without Tears, Second Steps, and Zoophonics. Speech- language and occupational therapists are available to support students with special needs.
Weld RE-4 offers tuition-based slots as well as Colorado Preschool Program (CPP) slots in its preschools. CPP is a state-funded early childhood education program administered by the Colorado Department of Education, that provides the opportunity for eligible children to attend half-day or full-day preschool.
