View from the dugout
Well we knew Saturdays game would be a tough one. Although we didn’t
play well we got a narrow 1-0 win with a goal from Harry Tobin. All credit to
Hengrove who nearly snatched a draw at the death. They never stopped for
90mins even when they went down to 10 men.
We were also indebted to our Keeper George Dorrington who made a great
penalty save just before half me & made 3 crucial saves during the 2nd
half.
It was our 3rd clean sheet in a row and as of tonight we are yet to concede
a goal in October.
The only disappoin ng thing was the straight red card shown to Asa White.
To be fair it didn’t look like a it was a red card and seemed that he just
jumped with his arm which the referee deemed as serious foul play.
Tonight we have a night off from the league as we face AEK Boco in the Les
Phillips Cup. Although we have never faced our visitors at this level & their
form of late is not been great. We know we are probably in for another
tough game as most sides seem to raise themselves when they play us.
The winners of tonight’s e will face an away game to Bristol Telephones.
A er tonight we have a rare weekend & midweek off before we face
Gillingham on 29th October.
It might be a good me for players to recharge the ba eries a er a long run
of games.
