                               Saturday 4th September 2021
                               Brislington 3 Bi on 2 ATT 106
                           Goalscorers :- Scadding 6, Jones 20 & 55
On a warm sunny a ernoon we welcomed league leaders Bi on to Ironmould Lane.
The KO was delayed by 15mins due to the appointed Referee braking down on his way to the game.
Lucky enough Kevin Slade was available so the game could go ahead
Dunn, Bath & Proctor we’re missing from Monday’s win against Cadbury Heath. Elliot Saunders came
in at le back and Neikell Plummer was signed on Friday started up front.
We started well and it only took 6mins for us to take the lead a ball by Prangley was totally misjudged
by the Bi on keeper & Scadding nipped in to roll the ball into the net. Unfortunately the Bi on
keeper was injured and had to be replaced.
We were now on top and playing some good football. Edmondson & Brace we’re a real thorn in the
side of the Bi on defence with their hard work & pace. Prangley & Jones we’re controlling the
midfield well and always looking for ball into Neiks or out wide.
Brace then went on a great run bea ng numerous Bi on players but could not find the finish his hard
       work deserved.
On 20mins we got the 2nd goal that we deserved ,again good work round the edge of the box seen
Brace tee up Jones whose great strike from 20+ yards found the bo om corner.
We had other chances to increase our lead but could not find the finish that some of our play
       deserved.
The away side started to get a foothold in the game with the dangerous McLennan looking to cause
us problems. Bi on had chances but could not finish and any thing on target was dealt with by
       Ma hews.
On 37mins McLennan was tripped in the box by Saunders. The resul ng penalty by Griffiths
despatched sending Ma hews the wrong way.
       HT 2-1
We knew that Bi on would come at us in the 2nd half and we would be stretched at mes. But we
started well with Scads being given plenty of space on the le and delivering some decent balls into
       the box.
On 55mins Scadds again found space and managed to get in to the box and square the ball back to
Jones whose finish was clinical to make it 3-1.
We were s ll looking to increase our lead despite the pressure being applied by Bi on. On 70mins
Jones nearly claimed his hat trick with a great strike which looked des ned for the top corner only
for the keeper to get his finger ps to it and the ball to come back off the bar.
On 77mins a harshly given free kick on the edge of the box. The free kick was well struck and made
it 3-2. Ma hews admi ed he could have probably done be er.
It was now a rear Guard ac on as Bi on went in search of an equaliser. But the back four of White,
Barwood, Lewis & Saunders were superb throwing bodies in the way of anything that came at them.
But we held out to claim a well deserved victory and inflict Bi on’s first defeat of the season.
This was a great performance by the whole side and proved on our day we are capable of matching
       any side in the League.
Hopefully we take the performance into Tuesdays game with Street who will no doubt be looking to
avenge our 3-1 defeat of them in the first game of the season Sent from my iPhone
