However a er 2010 leaner mes returned, eventually leading to relega on
in 2017. Returning to Step 5 level once more, the club remained ambi ous,
with the aim of compe ng strongly for the tle and regaining its previous
status.
The club’s ambi ons received a massive boost during the early part of 2021
as it merged with Yeovil United FC to become Bridgwater United FC. Now,
with a new club status, ownership and business model, plans are at an
advanced stage to make the club a real community asset - not just for the
town of Bridgwater but for the whole of Somerset.
BUFC Player Bio’s 2021/22
Jake Viney: Fantas c shot stopper. A er suffering a serious injury which kept him
out for a whole season in 2016/17, he’s come back stronger than ever with a string
of outstanding performances.
Mark Armstrong: Captain of the club and a born leader. An experienced,
hardworking, tough-tackling midfielder, equally comfortable in central defence.
Ryan Brereton: An exci ng and dynamic midfielder with a great le foot who will
be looking to make a big impression in his first full season with the club.
Callum Chivers: A promising youngster promoted from the Team BTC U-18
side.
Mike Duffy: Returns to the club for 2021/22 and will be looking to establish his
place in the star ng line-up with high energy, comba ve performances.
Harry Durant: Having come through the Team BTC U-18 side as a striker, 18-year-
old Harry has been converted to a full back and made the posi on his own in the
first team.
Ross Edwards: Defender signed from Bishops Lydeard. Also played for North Leigh.
Cameron Gauci: A pacey winger who joined the club in November 2021 from
Welsh side Dinas Powys FC
