Welcome to the Lancer Scott Stadum

Good afternoon and welcome to you all,
        particularly officials, players and
supporters who have made the very
        short journey from Clevedon. My
apologies for missing our big win last
week against Mousehole as I was at
Mangotsfield FC, watching Sam (my son,
for those who don’t know) make his
debut in the Southern league v Willand.
I have to tell you it was emotionally quite
strange, I wanted to be at 2 games at the
same time. I was kept up to date with
events here and at full time my phone went ballistic with news that Pricey’s 1 st
half goal had given us 3 points against one of the League’s inform teams, who
were sitting in 3 place at 3pm. Ex stags manager, Rich Ford, now at Brislington
                      rd
had sent me some info from their recent game with Mousehole and it concurred
with Beech’s own homework, which contributed to an excellent team
        performance.
I was told there were more new faces watching us, in particular, guys from
Backwell, hopefully they are here again today giving our lads the support they
        deserve.
I would like to welcome our latest recruit, Physio Sam Carey who I believe
studies with right back Tom Anthony. It is very very hard to find physios these
days, Beech and I have been trying for quite a while to replace Aaron Biddle,
who is now at Cheltenham Town academy.
I imagine we will be facing a very determined Clevedon side today, following our
3-2 win at the Everyone Active stadium in early September. We went there with
just 12 players, a 44 year old X-Backwell centre half in goal, Cleon Colman (my
window fitter) who saved a penalty. In fact the hosts had more staff/helpers
around the ground than we did players! The Seagulls didn’t take their 1 half
                                                                         st
chances, they had plenty, but we did in the 2 45 minutes.
                                                nd
Well done to Clevedon’s Oli Bebbington following his sensational 40 yard goal
which may well be nonleague goal of the season. If you haven’t seen it, I urge
you to find it on social media, you wont be disappointed.

Today is the 2 of 4 consecutive home games. A note for your diaries, the
                     nd
Bridgwater home game has been brought forward from March 19 to Saturday
                                                                  th
12 February. We are home again next week with the first ever visit of Millbrook
          th
to the Lancer Scott, 3pm k.o
Thank you for your support today, enjoy the game and please respect the
        officials.
        UP THE STAGS, Mike, Chairman
